About Lynda Bohonis
Growing up in Thunder Bay Ontario, I spent much of my time learning business management and bookkeeping from the age of 14, having worked with my entrepreneurial parents, one being a professional bookkeeper. Through this I acquired the skills required in performing bookkeeping services for various types of industry. I soon realized numbers and business management came naturally to me.
After graduating from high school, my career began with a contract position in the accounting department of a large provincial paper mill, while simultaneously enrolling in a college accounting program. This was followed by four years as Bookkeeper/ Office Manager in a retail setting. After moving to Ottawa, I spent eight years as Office Manager / Inside Sales for a large IT company, which expanded my business administration, human resources, and customer service skills.
Having transferred to the Niagara Region, I accepted a position as Clinic Manager in the Health and Wellness Industry. This position allowed me to continue using my bookkeeping as well as client services and human resource skills. After 9 years I moved back to the Ottawa Region to be close to family. Upon arriving I accepted a position as Senior Bookkeeper for a Bookkeeping & Business Consulting company, to which I worked for 8 years at. This position allowed me further expansion into performing bookkeeping for many different industries, clients being small, medium and large.
It was with great enthusiasm that I branched out on my own as a self-employed, freelance bookkeeper. It is through all this experience that I have continually expanded my hands on knowledge with bookkeeping, customer service, administration, human resources, facilities management and business management. My industry exposure includes many different industries; i.e.; general construction, landscaping, cartage, commercial HVAC, commercial insulation, commercial roofing, real estate, fleet management, dental, chiropractic, and retail.
